During her UA Miniresidency, Pihla Lehtinen will be play with the idea of hosting as a practice and work on her upcoming larp project. Poistaminen (Removal), is a folk horror larp about urban nature and otherness in urban spaces that will be played in public citypace of Helsinki in summer 2025.

“Soooo, if you had to kiss anyone in our school, who would it be?”
Mates, Dates, and Sleepovers is a teenage drama where a group of girls play spin the bottleat a sleepover. It is time to gossip about school, hobbies, annoying parents, and – of course!– cute boys. The larp is loosely based on Cathy Hopkins’s Mates, Dates book series.
The aim is to experience a slice from the life of a 14-year-old girl with her very importantdreams and worries that might seem mundane from a wider perspective. You will play theperfect girls’ night where all the school dramas and secret crushes are revealed.
Before the larp, players have an option to define topics or themes they don’t want to explore. Mates, Dates and Sleepovers is open to players of all genders and sexual orientations.

What: Ritual Entities – a movement workshop for larpers

In this workshop for larpers we’ll explore the possibilities of using movement in creatingrituals and incorporating inhuman/monstrous characters. The workshop has a bit of theory and some discussion in addition to movement exercises. All of the exercises are voluntary and you can take part in them at your own pace. Bring comfortable clothes for moving, awater bottle, and if you like, something to take notes with.
Some of the exercises are influenced by discussions about Pihla’s upcoming larp Poistaminen. We have room for a limited number of participants. Reserve your spot by emailing pihlajaisuni@gmail.com (Pihla).
What: Queer Larpers’ Hangout

Welcome meet other queers larpers! We will have snacks and smiles and laughs. We might also have some cool discussions about larping while queer, but mainly the idea is just to have a relaxed evening with other queer larpers and maybe leave with an increaced sense of community.
Pihla Lehtinen (she/her) is a queer artist with a background in cultural studies a love for queer monsters in her heart. She works in larp design and spoken word, with a recurring theme of otherness. For the last few years she’s been exploring queer ways of relating with nature and playing around with the language of folklore.
Accessibility
9 stairs lead to the building’s front lobby. There is also a ramp next to the building through which you can access the front door. The front door is heavy and has two 2 cm thresholds. From the front lobby, you can take an elevator directly to the SOLU Space (3rd floor).
Unfortunately the wheelchair accessible toilet is currently out of use. There’s another toilet one cannot fit in with a wheelchair. The bathroom has a 2 cm treshold on the door.The space does not have an induction loop.
