UrbanApa X HIFF presents: Feminist Futures of Filmmaking

16.-17.11.2021 at 17:00 – 20:00 live in Helsinki.

Two days of panels and discussion about the tools and possibilities for structural change. We will talk about e.g strategies to enhance diversity in representation, ways and possibilities to ensure safer working conditions, good practices as well as structural challenges.

The big question being:  How to move towards the feminist futures of filmmaking?

During the year 2021 UrbanApa art community and Helsinki International Film Festival – Love & Anarchy have co-organized a series of workshops with the title:

“Power, otherness and representations – tools for a changing world”

Ongoing discussions on racism, cultural appropriation, #MeToo and representation have raised urgent questions about the power of art and freedom in the creative fields. The workshop series aims to provide an easy to access platform for discussion and learning.

“The Feminist Futures of Filmmaking” is the third instalment in these series of workshops.
